YouTube video of Cirque du Soleil’s performance of “A Day In The Life” during the 50th Annual Grammy Awards show. The soundtrack album from their Beatles LOVE Las Vegas show won 2 awards; Best Compilation Soundtrack Album For Motion Picture, Television Or Other Visual Media, and Best Surround Sound Album. The album was remixed and produced by Sir George Martin and his son Giles.
The video segways right into a soulful performance of a gospel version of “Let It Be” by Timothy T. Mitchum and Carol Woods. From the movie soundtrack of the film Across The Universe. I believe the deluxe version of the soundtrack album is the only one with this track on it, so check out the track listings on the CD to be sure.
This was probably the best Grammy show I’ve seen in recent years. The video shows 2 of the best performances during the show. However, John Fogerty, Jerry Lee Lewis and Little Richard brought down the house with a rockin’ medley of tunes during the Icons of Rock segment. Fogerty performed a new song “Comin’ Down The Road,” followed by Lewis with “Great Balls Of Fire,” ending with Richard’s “Good Golly Miss Molly.”
