Omar Dykes and Jimmie Vaughan pay tribute to Jimmy Reed, along with Kim Wilson, James Cotton, Lou Ann Barton and Delbert McClinton, on a new CD titled “On the Jimmy Reed Highway.” The CD just came out October 30th.

Early reviews say it’s a perfect match between Reed’s rough & tough songwriting, and the Howlin’ Wolf like vocals of Omar Dykes and the roadhouse blues guitar of Jimmie Vaughan. The added harp from Kim Wilson and James Cotton, plus the bluesy vocals from Lou Ann Barton and Delbert McClinton really adds an air of authenticity to this Texans tribute.
