Let’s recognize a CybersMusic moment in rock history…
The year was 1981. MTV made its television debut at 12:01 am on August 1st.
The first video shown was “Video Killed the Radio Star” by the Buggles.
Another one of my favorite MTV videos was “Money For Nothing” from the 1985 multi-platinum album Brothers in Arms by Dire Straits. Mark Knopfler and Sting were probably the best thing to happen in the 80’s, and their collaboration on this mega-hit song put this video in super hot rotation on this new music network.
So what was your favorite video from the 80’s MTV era? Maybe this 20th anniversary DVD collection will jog your memory.
