Meet the Smithereens album pays tribute to the Beatles

This all out tribute to the Beatles album was called to my attention this past weekend. As we continue to celebrate the summer of love and the 40th anniversary of Sgt. Pepper’s, we simply must acknowledge this fine effort by the Smithereens. Yes, of course the band are big Beatle fans, and they’ve always done a few fab four covers in their live sets. But it really takes courage to take on an entire album, and you can hear the dedication in the music.

I really like the “bobbing doll head” video they did for “I Want to Hold Your Hand.”
