The 41st Montreux Jazz Festival starts this Friday (July 6) and runs through July 21st.  In addition to an incredible roster of artists performing, there’s also a wide variety of side venues like Studio 41, workshops, and three seperate competitions for piano, voice and guitar.

There’s hundreds of jazz festivals annually, but Montreux is probably the most recognized of them all.  I’m always amazed at the diversity of artists that perform such a wide variety of music every year.  A few of my favorites are…
Booker T & the MG’s
Dr. John
Jeff Beck
Living Colour
Norah Jones
Roger Hodgson (from Supertramp)
Seal
Sly & the Family Stone
Tori Amos
Van Morrison
Wilco
