The 1978 movie of Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band was awful, but the musical pairing of artists on the soundtrack was very interesting, with Peter Frampton, the Bee Gees, Aerosmith, and Earth, Wind & Fire, and Billy Preston, among others.  My favorite tracks are Aerosmith rocking their way through “Come Together,” the brassy performance of Earth, Wind & Fire on “Got to Get You into My Life,” and of course, Billy Preston’s “Get Back.”   

Peter Frampton stars as Billy Shears with Barry, Robin & Maurice Gibb as the rock group that sing their way though this interesting mix of Beatles songs from Sgt. Pepper’s through Abbey Road.
