Eric Clapton and Steve Winwood recently jammed together at England’s Countryside Rocks festival, where they performed a ’spoonful’ of Blind Faith and Cream songs, including Blind Faith’s “Presence Of The Lord” and “Can’t Find My Way Home,” plus Cream’s rockin’ cover of Robert Johnson’s ”Crossroads.” They also did the Spencer Davis Group classic stomp ”Gimme Some Lovin.”
It’s the first time Clapton and Winwood have performed together onstage in decades. Blind Faith and Traffic were both really great bands, so it’s awesome to see these guys get together and do some sort of live reunion. There’s probably video of it already online somewhere, which I just have to see and hear for myself. Now if only I can manage some Blind Faith through the Crosstown Traffic to get to the Cream.
In a Rolling Stone interview earlier this year, Clapton stated he planned to do something with Winwood at the Crossroads Guitar Festival this July in Chicago. Source: World Entertainment News Network
