The 2007 Denton Arts & Jazz Festival just wrapped up another year’s festivities in Denton’s Civic Center Park. As always, the music takes center stage and this year was no exception. There were performances from home town heroes Brave Combo, along with a good mix of music artists and artistic styles. Always a good time in North Texas! KNTU, the University of North Texas campus radio station, has a write up about the festival on their site kntu.com.
Friday’s artists included Keith Anderson, John Adams Quartet and the McCoy Tyner Trio.
Saturday performances were from the Steve Story Quartet, N’Awlins Gumbo Kings, Cindy Horstman Jazz Harp, Eric Scortia with Marcel Ivery & Clint Strong, the UNT Faculty Jazz Ensemble, Annagrey, Tom Faulkner and Susan Tedeschi.
Sunday’s music stages offered up the J. R. Byrd Band, the Official Texas Jazz Orchestra, Freddy Jones , Drew Phelps, James Gabriano, Fingerprints and Brave Combo.
